Awww how cute~ don’t worry about it I LOVE THAT MANGA. It’s perfect I feel you <3
dlaldhlakjla I know right? I don’t know how I could have missed it! My bro told me he knew it but ofc he didn’t tell me anything about it so it was first when a senpai of mine introduced it to me! >u
Beware because I use things from the origin episodes! (SPOILER)
I still can’t get over the umbrella scene and over the origin episode, but then I realised something. (sorry if someone already mentioned these things)
This bugging me a long ago, but Marinette here not just a cutie with bun, but a sad cutie. First I thought maybe the photo isn’t the best (like in Juleka’s case) but she seems kinda seperated from the class. And after the origin episodes realised what if she don’t had friends? Okay, it’s obvious that she don’t had any friend because of Chloé, but what if she never had any friend before? I mean we never saw a pic about her with other friends etc. And maybe this explain that she don’t had any self-confidence just since she is Ladybug and she is in this class. Maybe she was too shy and wanted to get so much friends that she acted strange and can’t get any? And later comes Chloé, who saw a lonely girl and began to bully her. (don’t know she had any reason or she is just Chloé XD) and no one stop her. Even in the origin can see that none of the previous class Rose, Juleka Nathaniel, Kim or Max try to stop her. I don’t say they never wanted or don’t feel sorry for Mari just they was afraid from Chloé. And then comes Alya. Alya is a new girl but helped her out on her first day and finally Mari get a friend and we can see that Marinette began to open up step by step. Then comes Adrien… first Marinette thought she got again someone, who will bully her, but here she isn’t afraid anymore to say what she think because of Alya. and then the umbrella scene
When Adrien explained the whole situation she is suprised because she misunderstood him and maybe because she got another one, who tried to help her.
And we can see her cute blushing face. I’m sure this scene is about that she fall in love with him because of his kindness but I would add what if she felt some connection between them? Like Adrien never had friends like her. Being in a friendship is totally new for him like for her. and he was always so lonely like her. (okay, Marinette wasn’t so lonely like Adrien because she have awesome parents.)And he is someone who helped her and cared for her. And don’t suprised that she fall in love with him because he was later too really supportive and kind with her. (and sometimes protective too)
And this pic so important! Not just because we can see how awesome this class is. (they care for each other and they’re all so awesome <3) but look at Marinette’s happy face! She stand with her first friend and with her first love and maybe they were the first people (expect her parents), who try to help her and care for her.
Maybe I overexplain this and Marinette never was so lonely, just she had issues with Chloé and the previous class wasn’t so cool and caring like this class. (I hope we will see more scenes like in Reflekta)
Bonus: After they got this class pic, both Adrien and Marinette find a special place for this pic. Adrien because he is with his friends and this is his first class pic and Marinette because she is with her dear friend and with Adrien plus she loves this class so much. I love to think they’re the same at this and connected in many way.
I’m too deep into this show and I’m too deep into this ship
So today I’m going to tackle this commonly held notion that Chat Noir is somehow Adrien’s true self, as well as the fandom binary that likes to treat them as separate characters, when they’re the same person. Adrien is not separate from Chat; Chat is not separate from Adrien.
I feel like a huge part of the confusion has to do with the fact that Chat Noir presents himself as confident and sure-footed while Adrien is polite and understated, and a lot of folks have trouble reconciling the two.
This is because in the current media environment, nuanced characters who show any sort of duality in their personalities are rare (especially in children’s shows). But there’s also something else going on here. One of the reasons that people have such a tough time accepting that Adrien and Chat are the same person is because Adrien Agreste is a trope breaker.
How? Well, there is the fact that other people have already mentioned; how he’s the Yin to Marinette’s Yang, the dark, reserved, and passive energy to her outgoing positive energy. But that’s not the only trope convention that he breaks.
Adrien is the actual embodiment of all the YA/shoujo stereotypes that people like to project onto Marinette. Actually, together, the two of them subvert and reverse the typical male/female dynamic in this genre, and that’s what makes them such compelling characters.
Of course, he doesn’t fit the mold entirely—and neither does Marinette—but it’s true! Adrien is both utterly charming and utterly unsure about himself.
I think on some level, most people recognize this. In fact, I’m almost positive that it’s one of the reasons that Ladrien is less popular than the other sides of the love square dynamics.
Because people aren’t used to having the boy be the one who’s the daydreaming shy one, and with no actual canon interaction to work from to see how interesting it can be, people are filling in the blanks with their own interpretations, and some people love it, and some people hate it.
It also explains why he seems to be so different when he’s Chat Noir. Let me deconstruct how this works.
Adrien Agreste is sweet, charming, encouraging and friendly.
And he’s also shy as hell.
The way it manifests in his behavior could easily be mistaken for politeness if you don’t look closely, but it’s everywhere if you’re searching for it.
We can clearly see it in the littlest things. Like when Adrien comes over to Marinette’s house to practice for the video game tournament and her father comes up multiple times with offers of food, Adrien looks very pleased and eager, but Marinette, focused only on being alone with Adrien, immediately shuts her father down and sends him back downstairs.
She’s not looking at Adrien’s face, and so our shy kitten, who definitely wants the cookies but isn’t used to speaking up for himself, doesn’t get his food. This happens twice before Adrien finally feels confident and comfortable enough to speak up for himself and say that he’d like to take a break and try Madame Cheng’s quiche.
You can see it in the way he deals with Chloe too. Note the difference between Adrien and Mari’s respective reactions to Chloe trying to barge into Juleka’s space to stand beside him for the school picture: while Marinette basically tells her to fuck off, Adrien makes a comment about how it’s not gym class, but that’s about it. Once she’s there, he sighs and suffers in silence. Because that’s how he always deals with Chloe, as she walks all over him, invading his personal space and getting in his face.
It’s clear to anyone paying attention to Adrien’s expression that he isn’t happy about any of it, but again, that’s the key: you have to be paying attention. Because Adrien rarely actually verbalizes his displeasure, and even if he does, he does so in a very subtle manner compared to how Marinette expresses anger.
Like when he does confront Chloe, in Kung Food—he backs up Marinette and then again, makes a snide comment at the end when Chloe tries to assert herself. But he’s never openly confrontational, and he’s rarely the aggressor.
Compare this to Marinette, who often rushes in and says things without thinking, and you can see the difference.
Once again, to accurately read Adrien, you have to be paying attention to him. And if you pay attention to him, you can see that he is often replete with uncertainty, and he’s constantly seeking some sort of validation. Because the thing is, for most of his life, Adrien has been a sheltered homeschooled boy with essentially no interaction with peers of his own age, let alone girls.
Unlike Marinette, who has spent her life surrounded by people who care about her and encourage her bold personality, Adrien has had to repress and present the perfect facade. He’s still figuring out how to interact with regular people, and he takes his cues from the way people react to him. Which is why Marinette’s awkwardness confuses him—it’s not quite friendly and yet it’s not quite unfriendly, but in this strange middle space, and he’s clueless as to how to deal with it.
So what does this have to do with how Adrien matches up with typical shoujo tropes?
Well, it’s because of this: if anyone needs a boost of confidence from a magical suit, it’s Adrien. If Ladybug is the sun, Adrien is the sunflower, looking up at her to catch a ray of light. He’s dazzled by her, and he wants desperately to be worthy of her love.
The thing is, as Chat Noir, Adrien finally gets a chance to explore saying whatever he wants to say and being whoever he wants to be, without being repressed by his family or Nathalie or the Gorilla. Finally, he has freedom- and powers- and he gets to save the world with a really amazing partner who he’s in love with! That’s great, right?
Well, sort of. Thing is, Adrien still needs validation from someone, to check if this new style he’s trying on, this new personality as Chat Noir, actually works. And who gives him that feedback? Ladybug. And he craves it endlessly.
Chat’s over the top personality is an overcompensation designed to get a reaction from Ladybug. The puns, the jokes, the flirting, it’s all for her. No matter what he does, she’s going to respond in some way, and Chat Noir is addicted to it, and he’s fallen for her in the process.
So if you’re still with me, that’s the point, you guys. Even though he’s sweet and charming and can hold his own, at his core, Adrien is still very unsure about a lot of things. Including where he stands with Ladybug.
And the way he acts as Chat Noir is a way to build a sense of self-worth, through positive feedback from Ladybug and by being a hero for the city of Paris. The reason he’s so over the top- and why he’s so head over heels for Ladybug, is because she justifies the choices he makes when he’s with her, and responds positively to the way he acts! Again, it all comes down to the way she reacts to him.
I guarantee you that if Ladybug stopped responding and flirting back, he would stop immediately, and shift course. He’d still be her partner and a good friend, but I have no doubt that if she truly responded negatively to his flirtatious overtures or puns, he’d be a lot more serious with her.
So don’t be fooled by Chat’s bravado; the extremes of his behavior stem directly from Adrien’s craving for validation; therefore, the two are inextricably intertwined. They’re the same person, driven by the same internal desire.
Anyways, that’s my piece on my little kitten son. I don’t know if I actually articulated anything useful to anyone, but I tried, haha- Adrien’s a complex character! Thanks for reading :)
The real reason why I don’t want LB and CN to be akumatized is because I feel like we should see Ladybug and Chat Noir as the definition and symbolism of what it means to be a Hero. They are the ideal that people would like to be
But I am not putting them in a pedestal. Because in the end, heroes are indeed humans. What I just mean to say is that being Ladybug and Chat Noir is not about being put in a pedestal…
It’s an honor.
It’s a title given to the people who can control the akuma inside them. It’s the title given to people who would never wish to hurt others, despite all the harshness they had been through. It’s the title given to people who wants to have the power to save people from their demons, and won’t condemn them for their mistake.
And having all these traits is what it truly means to be a Hero. It’s not simply about saving others and fighting for Justice. Because when you fight someone, you are hurting them. You only ended up creating more hate. You never solved anything. This is shown by our favorite akumatized villains: Lady Wifi, Evillustrator, and RogerCop, are all people fighting thinking that what they are doing is right. They thought that what they are doing is right. They thought they are serving justice.
But these people didn’t receive the title of Hero. Why?
Because they let their hate take over them. They let their anger to control their actions and judge on people. They fight for what they think is Justice. They hurt others for hurting others.
Ladybug and Chat Noir are the true Heroes. Why?
Because they never let their hate take over them. They don’t judge for what they think is Justice. They try their best to understand the pain in others. And it’s because they understand that everybody has their own pain that they want to heal and soothe it. They don’t fight. They save.
And this has been shown in the Lady Wifi episode.
Tikki: Are you really going to be fine with fighting your bestfriend?
Marinette: I’m not fighting her. I’m saving her.
Tikki is supposed to be the one saying that “saving” is different from “fighting”. She’s the Hero’s wise mentor! But somehow, Marinette knows much better than Tikki (who’s supposed to be the one to teach her that wisdom). Marinette is the one who corrected her of the difference between “saving” and “fighting” instead of the other way around!
And it’s because of this that now I think that the reason why Tikki is so proud at Marinette for being the chosen Ladybug is because she’s quick to understand the true meaning of what it means to be a Hero… That saving is what Hero’s do.
And fighting people is not saving. It’s not heroicto fight because she isn’t saving people. That’s not what Justice is about (Marinette’s implication in RogerCop and Evillustrator episode). Serving Justice is not about fighting for the injustice that was done. She deemed fighting as bad. And I think this is the reason why she had this view that Evillustrator is a bad guy. Not only because he is akumatized, but because he decide to hurt Chloe instead. That’s not what serving Justice is for her. That’s why she asked Nathaneal why is he being a villain when he is such a good guy.
But Evillustrator only answered that he is only serving Justice to Chloe … and Marinette realized that she won’t get through to him because he’s only doing what he think is right.
This is also why she is so merciless at betraying Evillustrator.
Because she just wants to hurry up and get rid of the Evillustrator (the evil akuma in Nathaneal), to turn him back into a good guy. She is not deeming him bad. But his actions are villainous (even if Chloe do deserve it). This is also why she thinks it’s unfair that she’s being compared to Chloe. She was just doing her actions because she knew that she was only doing what is right (Chloes isn’t.She’s just being plain selfish).
Ladybug and Chat Noir are not mere characters…
They are Symbols.
They are an Honorary Title given to people who can understand that letting an akuma control your decisions is bad. Because trying to drive your point by hurting others is not Justice, it’s villainous.
They don’t fight, they save. And they save people by stopping the chain of pain and hate. There wasn’t any hate around (no one was even blaming at the akumatized citizens) because Ladybug and Chat Noir will be the ones to cleans their sins. Ladybug will just undo all the pain they received, so they have no right to hate anymore. That is why Paris is so at peace. Everyone trusts Ladybug and Chat Noir are the Heroes who will always be there to save the day.
Ladybug and Chat Noir serves as Symbol of Peace.
And this is why Adrien and Marinette are so proud when they are in their counter-egos.
So what if everyone are just humans to feel pain? So what if Heroes can be imperfect too and has right to feel pain and sorrow? The good thing about LB and CN’s symbolism as a hero is that it doesn’t tell you that hero’s are this perfect beings. It tells you that despite imperfection, you can still be a Hero by never intending to hurt others intentionally. Whether you think it’s justice or not, it’s never right to hurt others.
And this is being shown through Marinette and Adrien.
We are humans that feel hate. We can get selfish. We can unintentionally hurt others for our careless actions. But we can still live out our ideals by tryingour best to be like Ladybug and Chat Noir. If you can’t, don’t worry! You’re not a bad guy. Ladybug and Chat Noir will be there to save the day!
By living out the ideal example of LB and CN, I think this is when the world will truly be at peace. This is how we can attain World Peace. This is how we can make a world without hate and prejudice. You can hate, but please don’t let this be a reason to hurt others. You will only create a chain of hate. You are only ending up making an endless cycle of pain.
If you want an ideal world, where there is no hate, where there is no pain. If you want to have the True Peace. Everyone should learn to live like Marinette and Adrien, the current holders of the title of Hero. They are humans like you, but they never let their akumas take over them.

AAAAH HELLO!! Thank you for being my Secret valentine and showering me in cute OPM lines! I have to admit I’m still 100% in love with your mumen rider one wwww ♥ HAPPY VALENTINES AND THANK YOU!! YOU ARE A CUTIE ^^
匿名 whispered: So your fave character from opm is Mumen rider. Cool! He's so precious! So what's your second fave character? My first and second faves are Genos and Saitama :)
Mumen Rider and then Saitama. ^^ I like Genos too but for me he is very revenge driven which makes me kind of sad. Genos is very handsome tho /// that I have to admit and he is a smoll cinnamon roll who needs protection from the world and everything evil. I love saitama doesn’t give a fuck about anything and is selfish and very human in the way he acts. I especially love he doesn’t give a damn about other people’s opinion when the Tanktop brothers try to “bully” him out of being a hero and he just blurt out he does it for himself, but then the next second is concerned about how people see bald people after the incident with Hammerhead. In general I like most characters! seeing them animated is like seeing your children grow up haha. I’m a follower of the manga too! Have you read the manga?
匿名 whispered: I'm bad at picking up girls and can only pick up my bike but I wouldn't mind to pick you up.^//^ - from your secret valentine (lol I hope this doesn't sound lame)
OMG THAT IS THE CUTEST THING ON EARTH LIKE EXCUSE ME MUMEN RIDER PRECIOUS SO MUCH TuT Aah no it isn’t lame at all, Thank you sweetest Secret valentine this made me really happy, what I love about mumen rider is that he always does his best no matter how aware he is that he isn’t saitama or Genos. He is weak and knows it so he work hard and is passionate about the things he do. Thaank you ♥
